RENTALGUARD

RentalGuard is developed and published by Victain LTD. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

RentalGuard stores all rental records, photos, and documents locally on your device only. No data is transmitted to our servers. This includes:

Rental details (car, dates, company, location, booking reference)
Inspection photos taken at pickup and return
Pre-existing damage photos and notes
Odometer and fuel level readings
Receipt, document and agreement photos
Walk-around videos
Toll, fine and expense records
Dispute letters and notes
App settings (your name, currency, odometer unit)

All data remains on your device and is never uploaded or shared without your explicit action (e.g. you choosing to share a PDF or photo via a share sheet).

2. Location Data

RentalGuard requests optional access to your device location. Location is used solely to geotag inspection photos and damage records at the time they are taken. This data is stored locally within the app and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

3. Camera and Microphone

The app uses your camera to photograph vehicles and record walk-around videos. Microphone access is used only during walk-around video recording. All media is saved to your device.

4. Advertising

The free tier of RentalGuard displays adverts served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID to show relevant ads. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time via your device settings under Privacy → Ads. Upgrading to RentalGuard Premium removes all advertising from the app.

5. In-App Purchases

Premium upgrades are processed entirely through the Google Play Store. Victain LTD does not collect or store any payment information.

6. Notifications

With your permission, RentalGuard may send local notifications to remind you of upcoming return dates or dispute follow-up deadlines. These notifications are scheduled on-device and do not involve any external server.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third parties, except as described in Section 4 (Google AdMob) or where required by law.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All app data is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual rental records within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data. Victain LTD does not hold copies of your data on any server.

9. Children

RentalGuard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will always be available at this URL with a revised date at the top.
